- What does Pro unlock?
- Unlimited standard listening (no 20-min/day cap), 100+ premium AI voices, up to 3× speed, unlimited AI explain, full ebooks & long PDFs/documents, cross-device sync, MP3 export, and 120 generated minutes per month using your personal voice.
- Can I try personal voice cloning for free?
- Yes. After signing in, an account can create and manage multiple personal voices and play their fixed previews for free. Applying a personal voice to Read Aloud or Explain requires Pro.
- How does the 120-minute personal voice allowance work?
- Active Pro members, including members in the 3-day trial, can generate up to 120 minutes with a personal voice per entitlement period. Usage is based on successfully generated audio duration—not playback time. Failed or cancelled generations and the fixed preview do not count.
- What happens when I reach 120 personal-voice minutes?
- Personal-voice generation pauses until the monthly reset. Your voice stays saved, and standard CastReader voices remain available; we never silently replace your selected personal voice with another voice.
- Does the Pro trial have a different voice-cloning limit?
- No. Trialing and paid Pro members use the same simple 120-minute monthly personal-voice allowance.
- How many free explains do I get?
- 3 per day, resetting every day. The counter shows on the Explain button in the extension.
- How does the 3-day free trial work?
- Start Pro and you won't be charged for the first 3 days. Cancel anytime before the trial ends and you pay nothing. After that it renews at your chosen plan.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. Open Manage subscription (Stripe) and cancel — you keep Pro until the end of the current billing period, with no further charges.
- Monthly or yearly — what's the difference?
- Same features. Yearly is $35.99 (≈ $3/mo, save 40%) vs $4.99/month. You can switch plans anytime — the prorated difference is handled automatically.
- Which devices does it work on?
- Any device with the CastReader browser extension (Chrome / Edge). Your Pro subscription is linked to your account and follows you across devices.
- Is my payment secure?
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- How do I get a refund?
- Reach out via support and we'll take care of it.
