How CastReader Works with Feedly
RSS reading, now hands-free
Article Body Only
🔊 Reads the Story — Not the Feedly Chrome
Feedly's web UI has sidebars, filters, AI features, tags, and save/share buttons. CastReader's Feedly extractor reads only the article body — you don't hear 'save to board · mark as read · unread count twelve' before every story.
Auto-Queue
One Article Finishes, the Next Starts
Turn your unread inbox into a commute podcast. CastReader can auto-play the next article in your feed when the current one finishes — so 45 minutes of reading time becomes 45 minutes of hands-free listening.
Works with Pro and Enterprise
Same Extractor, Any Plan
Free Feedly, Feedly Pro, Feedly Enterprise — all use the same web structure. CastReader works with all plans and with Feedly's AI features (Leo, priorities, summaries). You don't need an upgraded Feedly subscription to use read-aloud.
Send to Phone
Take Your Feed On the Go
Press Send to Phone and CastReader streams audio to your phone via a Telegram bot link. Perfect for commutes: read all morning headlines, queue up three analyses, walk out the door.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about listening to Feedly with CastReader
Does Feedly have a built-in read-aloud feature?
Feedly has some audio features inside its Pro tier (AI summaries, podcasts), but not a generic 'read this article aloud' button on every RSS item. CastReader adds that directly — a 🔊 Listen button on every feed entry, regardless of your Feedly plan.
Does it read the full article or just the RSS preview?
It depends on how the feed was configured by the publisher. Feedly shows either a preview or the full text. CastReader reads whatever text is visible on the Feedly page. If the feed truncates, you can click through to the original article and CastReader will read that too.
Does it auto-play the next article?
Yes — that's the key feature for commute use. CastReader can auto-advance through your unread queue so you don't have to click Listen on every article. Toggle this in CastReader settings.
Does it work with Feedly AI summaries?
Yes. If you have Feedly Pro and generate an AI summary, CastReader reads the summary just like it reads a regular article. Pair it with auto-queue for a morning newsroom experience.
What about the mobile Feedly app?
CastReader is a browser extension, so it works with Feedly in your browser (desktop or mobile). The native iOS/Android Feedly apps are outside the extension's scope. For hands-free listening on mobile, use Send to Phone: start playback on desktop, stream audio to your phone via Telegram.
Can I send articles to my phone?
Yes. CastReader's Send to Phone feature works on Feedly pages. Start playback in your browser, click Send to Phone, and the audio streams to your phone — no manual re-sync required.
Is it free?
Completely free. No API key, no usage limits, no account required. Install the Chrome extension and start listening.
