About This Book
William Ware (1797-1852) was an American romancer. He graduated at Harvard (1816), studied for the Unitarian ministry, and preached in New York and later in Massachusetts. He achieved literary recognition chiefly from his authorship of two historical romances Zenobia; or, The Fall of Palmyra (1837) and Aurelian; or, Rome in the Third Century (1838). Amongst his other works are Julian (1841) and Lectures on Washingston Allston (1852).
