Listen to LinkedIn
CastReader reads LinkedIn posts, articles, and newsletters aloud with natural voices — skipping reaction counts, suggested posts, and promoted content so you hear the writing, not the feed chrome.
The most underrated skill in engineering management is saying 'we're not going to do that' clearly — in writing, to the person who asked, with your reasoning attached. Over the last year I've started doing this as a short internal memo instead of a Slack reply. The memo takes 15 extra minutes but saves 3 rounds of async debate.

How CastReader Works with LinkedIn
Built for LinkedIn's mix of feed posts, long-form articles, and newsletters
Per-Post Listen
🔊 On Every Feed Post
Every LinkedIn post gets a small Listen button. Click to hear just that post. CastReader skips reaction counts, 'See more' truncation, and the 'Promoted' / 'Suggested for you' interruptions that scatter the feed.
LinkedIn Articles and Pulse
Long-Form Reads Without the Reading Time
LinkedIn Articles and Pulse features are real long-form writing — often 1,500 to 3,000 words. CastReader reads the full article cleanly, ignoring the author's other-content sidebar, related posts, and comment section below.
Newsletters Supported
LinkedIn Newsletter Issues Read Aloud
LinkedIn Newsletters (the subscription-style posts) often have dedicated layouts with cover images and section breaks. CastReader's LinkedIn extractor reads the issue body properly — headings first, then body, section by section.
No 'Promoted' Read Aloud
Feed Chrome Stays Silent
'People you may know' rails, 'LinkedIn Learning' callouts, 'Today's top jobs' — none of it gets read aloud. CastReader's extractor identifies only the human-authored post body and skips the rest.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about listening to LinkedIn with CastReader
Does LinkedIn have a built-in read-aloud feature?
No. LinkedIn has no text-to-speech for posts, articles, or newsletters. CastReader adds a 🔊 Listen button on every piece of LinkedIn content so you can hear any post or article for free.
Does it read comments under posts?
By default, comments are skipped — they clutter a listen-through. Each comment has its own per-comment Listen button for when you want a specific one. You can change the default in CastReader settings to auto-read comments as part of the post.
Does it skip promoted posts and 'Suggested for you' content?
Yes. CastReader's LinkedIn extractor recognizes promoted posts, 'Suggested for you' rails, 'People you may know' cards, and other feed interruptions. They stay visible but are skipped during read-aloud.
Does it work with LinkedIn Premium features?
Yes. CastReader reads whatever LinkedIn shows in your logged-in browser. Premium features (InMail content, expanded profiles, 'Top Applicant' indicators) render as normal page content — CastReader reads the text parts. No Premium subscription required for the read-aloud itself.
Can it read a whole LinkedIn article in one click?
Yes. Click Listen at the top of a LinkedIn Article and CastReader reads the full body in order — title first, then section headings, then paragraphs. No manual chapter navigation.
What about LinkedIn Learning videos?
LinkedIn Learning is a video platform — read-aloud doesn't apply to video content. If a course has a transcript view, CastReader can read the transcript.
Is it free?
Completely free. No API key, no usage limits, no account required. Install the Chrome extension and start listening.
