Listen to Meta AI Answers
CastReader reads Meta AI (LLaMA) conversations aloud with natural voices and word-by-word highlighting. Works on meta.ai and any Meta AI share link opened in your browser.
LLaMA 4 is a major step forward — it moves to a mixture-of-experts architecture, so only a subset of parameters runs per request, making it faster and cheaper than the dense LLaMA 3 models. It also handles much longer context windows, supports native multimodal input, and is trained on significantly more data. For most users the practical difference is: LLaMA 4 answers feel snappier and handle images and long documents better.

How CastReader Works with Meta AI
Browser-based read-aloud for LLaMA answers
Listen Button on Every Answer
🔊 Per-Response Read Aloud
A small Listen button appears next to every Meta AI reply on meta.ai. Click to hear just that answer. Works for short questions, long explanations, and multi-part responses.
Open-Weight Friendly
Works with Every LLaMA Version
CastReader reads the rendered page, so it works with LLaMA 3.1, LLaMA 3.3, and LLaMA 4 (MoE) answers on meta.ai. Model swaps never require an extension update. It also works on any third-party web UI that hosts an open-weight LLaMA model and renders plain assistant messages.
Smart Extraction
Reads the Answer, Not the App Shell
meta.ai is wrapped in Meta's social app shell — sidebar, message composer, Imagine/Discover panels. CastReader's Meta AI extractor identifies just the assistant response body and reads only that.
Share Links Supported
Listen to Any Meta AI Share
Meta AI answers shared via Messenger, WhatsApp, or Instagram often open as meta.ai share links in the browser. CastReader reads these share pages aloud too — same one-click experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about listening to Meta AI with CastReader
Does Meta AI have a built-in read-aloud feature?
No. meta.ai's web interface does not have text-to-speech for written answers. The voice chat feature in the Meta AI apps is two-way conversation, not read-aloud for existing text. CastReader adds a 🔊 Listen button next to every Meta AI response so you can hear any answer read aloud for free.
Does it work with LLaMA 4?
Yes. CastReader reads the rendered answer text, so it works with every LLaMA model Meta AI serves — LLaMA 3.1, 3.3, and the new mixture-of-experts LLaMA 4. No model-specific configuration needed.
Does it work with Meta AI in Messenger, WhatsApp, or Instagram?
Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram are native mobile apps — browser extensions don't run inside them. But when Meta AI answers are shared out of those apps, the links usually open as meta.ai share pages in the browser, and CastReader reads those normally. For in-app Meta AI chat on mobile, CastReader doesn't apply.
Does it skip 'Imagine' image descriptions?
Meta AI's Imagine feature generates images alongside text. CastReader reads the text explanation and skips the image attachment UI — you hear the actual answer, not 'Image generated' metadata being spelled out.
Does it work with meta.ai share links?
Yes. Public meta.ai share links (sent from the Share button on an answer) work with CastReader. Recipients just need CastReader installed — no Meta login required on their side for public shares.
Can I listen to local LLaMA models too?
If you run LLaMA locally in a web UI that renders plain assistant messages — LM Studio's web view, Open WebUI, text-generation-webui, etc. — CastReader's generic page reading usually works. The dedicated Meta AI extractor is tuned for meta.ai specifically.
